OPINION: A REVELATION OF SOPON ONGKARA: A PLOT AGAINST CAMBODIA IS IN THE MAKING

Sopon Ongkara of THE NATION first mistake is that he does not know, and at best he pretends that he does not know Thailand history that is infested by more than 70 coups d’Etat that had toppled the “ordinary”governments of Thailand, and the last victim was the elected government of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. In Thailand, branding someone as traitor, or patriot, or hero has its truth only to the person who does the branding. Thai coup makers came out to be hero and the victims became criminals or traitors.

When Thai opposition declared publicly that they intended to topple the Abhisit government as claimed by Sopon Ongkara of THE NATION, whether it is true or not, he should find it to be more civilized than a military coup. On the other hand Thai public would be the one who will decide that the Abhisit government must go or stay at the ballot box regardless of Thai opposition’s intention. That is democracy. Having been labeled “champion of democracy” by THE NATION, Abhisit Vijjajeva should not have been mute about calling a general election, as the opposition has been calling for it again and again. It would give a chance for Abhisit Vijjajeva to prove himself as THE NATION has been mentioning several times that Abhisit Vijjajeva’s approval rate has tripled lately.

Abhisit Vijjajeva must know the truth about the poll. Is it a scam or a reality? It is a scam to fool Thai and international public. It is a reality and unfortunately Abhisit Vijjajeva does not believe the poll, because he is a fool. In a matter of days, Abhisit Vijjajeva will no longer have ASEAN to ride, and he will no longer have the opportunity to smile at the cameras for photo ops and the chance of bragging about the greatness of his diplomacy, second only to Kasit Piromya who has risen to prominence for his slanderous sharp tongue since his days wearing yellow shirt and leading terrorist activities against Thai people at Suvannaphuma airport.

Sopon Ongkara of THE NATION is good at slandering people like Kasit Piromyra. He could be Kasit’s double. Knowing that Thai people venerate their King and Queen and the monarchy, Sopon Ongkara of THE NATION , as well as Kasit Piromya and Abhisit Vijjajeva are taking turn to take cheap shot at Pheu Thai, at Thaksin and at whoever who is not in Abhisit Vijjajeva’s camp that these people will “do away with the monarchy.”

Sopon Ongkara must be tipped by Kasit Piromya about the Thai Foreign Ministry secret document to “eliminate” Thaksin, to foment the coup against the government of Cambodia, and to assassinate the Prime Minister HUN SEN of Cambodia, otherwise he would not have stated that “Cambodia has become more than a thorn in the side of Thailand;” He spoke about Cambodia’s “heading on the collision course with Thailand,” as if he was aware of all the plots by the Abhisit’s government against Cambodia. He threw all the chips on the table on the side of the Abhisit’s government against Cambodia as if he was part of the group together with Abhisit Vijjajeva, Kasit Piromya and the others who concocted the scheme against Cambodia and Prime Minister HUN SEN, by stating with all the confidence in the world that Prime Minister HUN SEN “caused serious harm to Cambodian interests.

The country loses income from tourism, border casinos, trade, and the chance to register the Preah Vihear temple ruins with the World Heritage Organisation, and the exploitation of offshore petroleum deposits.” His insane bravado blinds him. He made his second big mistake by saying that “the country loses the chance to register the Preah Vihear temple ruins with the World Heritage Organization.” Was it a simple lie to readers, national and international?

In fact the Temple of Preah Vihear was inscribed on the World Heritage List since 7 July 2008, in Quebec Canada at the 32nd Session of the World Heritage Committee. One lie leads to another lie. He lies about Thaksin’s “hideous plan to join hands with ex-communist guerrillas to end the monarchy.” He lies and speculates wildly by saying that Prime Minister Hun Sen “has blatantly interfered in the internal affairs of Thailand, given safe haven to Thaksin, and engaged in activities considered as serious threats.” Or was he a fool and a cocky head, he who is so sure about Abhisit Vijjajeva’s plan to foment the coup against Cambodia and to head to a confrontation with Cambodia?

Despite the denials by Abhisit Vijjajeva and Suthep about Thailand’s fomenting coup against Cambodia found in Thailand Foreign Affairs Ministry’s secret document, the writing is there on the wall.
