ASEAN- India Car Rally reaches Cambodia, and leads to Vietnam


PHNOM PENH: ASEAN –India car rally 2012 will continue its trip to Vietnam today after a night stay in Cambodia. This morning the team of car rally gathered in front of Independence monument in city of Phnom Penh before starting their journey to Ho Chi Minh Vietnam through Bavet border gate in Cambodia. The flag –off ceremony was held under presidency of deputy prime minister and council minister Sok An, the event will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the Asean bloc and India. The car rally will return back Kratie province of Cambodia before going to Laos. When the members of the car rally arrived at Angkor wat temple, world heritage site and world tourism destination in the kingdom, they planted trees to symbolize the cooperation. The Asean and India are trying to boost their ties for progress and prosperity. The ASEAN- India Car Rally 2012, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), was kicked off on 26th November 2012 at Yogyakarta, Indonesia with a ceremonial flag off at Singapore. The rally  covered a total distance of 8000 kilometers across nations- Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and finally will reach India on 20 December 2012 , according to the schedule .
