Cambodia To Dispatch Three Athletes to Attend the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in China

Cambodia is going to dispatch three athletes to attend the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in China, to be held from Aug. 16-28 in Nanning.

The three athletes – Cheng Sopha, Dorn Sreymao, and Sokha Vireyavattey – will leave Cambodia on Aug. 14 to compete in swimming, wrestling and athletics events respectively, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary-General of National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), said at a conference held on Aug. 12 in Phnom Penh.

The Summer Youth Olympic Games is not only about competition, but also about experience and cultural exchange among the participating countries, he underlined.

According to H.E. Vath Chamroeun, 204 nations with 3,808 athletes will join this international competition which includes 30 types of sports.

The Summer Youth Olympic Games take place every four years.
